Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics is subject related to Pharmaceutical science and concerned with the examines the inter-relationship of the physical/chemical properties of the drug, the dosage form (drug product) in which the drug is given, and the route of administration on the rate and extent of systemic drug absorption. Basic scientific knowledge about these properties of materials helps the students, teachers and pharmacists to select appropriate material for desired applications. This is a twin discipline of Biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics have, therefore been developed with the objective of leaning how drugs can be utilized optimally in the treatment of diseases-through design and development of new and better therapeutics moieties, new dosage forms and appropriate dosage regimens.
This book is designed as a core textbook for the Biopharmaceutics course as per existing curriculum.
